Mr. Gallitano is an associate of REM Associates and President of Distribution Consulting Associates, a management consulting firm established in 1985, specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Mr. Gallitano has over 35 years experience in all aspects of this field including distribution operations, warehouse productivity improvement, space utilization and optimization, warehouse design and layout, inventory management, materials management, purchasing, production scheduling and control, sales forecasting, customer service, order processing, systems development, and supervisor training.
His experience includes the development and implementation of warehouse productivity improvement programs, including conducting methods studies, developing labor standards, and developing and implementing performance measurements. He has audited operations, designed and implemented forecasting, purchasing, and inventory systems, designed, developed implemented and administered MRP, MRPII, and DRP systems, and performed studies of distribution systems, making recommendations regarding locations and numbers of distribution centers.
Prior to establishing Distribution Consulting Associates, Mr. Gallitano was a Principal with Case & Company, a management consulting firm based in Connecticut. Before becoming a management consultant, Mr. Gallitano held responsible managerial positions with such nationally known firms as Nabisco Brands, Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Co., Chas. Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co., the Mennen Company and Westwood Industries.
Mr. Gallitano is also an internationally recognized speaker, lecturing and conducting seminars and training on warehouse operations, warehouse productivity improvement, and inventory management in many colleges and universities in the United States as well as in Mexico, Colombia, and Singapore. He has also made presentations to the National Catalogue Operations Forum, the National Paper Trade Association, the Steel Service Center Institute, the Florida Sanitary Supply Association, and the Strategic Forum Expertise Institute.
Mr. Gallitano is an active member, lecturer, and speaker at the annual conferences of the Warehouse Education and Research Council, and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
